Meet Abby! Abby is a rescue cavalier with a lot of love to give. She’s an ex-breeding dog and can be very nervous, but she’s extremely affectionate once you get to know her! Cara and her family adopted her in 2022 and she became an immediate welcomed addition, despite some of her destructive tendencies (she’s just living out her dreams of finally being a normal puppy!).

Hi there, My name is Jess. I am a qualified Hydrotherapist therapist, vet nurse and dog behaviourist. I also have a growing interest in canine conditioning and fitness which I started to explore for the long term health of my own dogs. I have grown up with German Shepherds and still have shepherds to this day but I’m also now a dog mum to a sassy and much love Aussie shepherd as well. When I’m not having fun swimming dogs at work I love to travel with my dogs and dabble in a variety of dog sports, from tricks and obedience to dog showing but harbour a keen interst to give scent work and herding a go when time allows as well!

Amara (Aussie Shepherd) has her own sass and joy for life that she also loves to share with everyone she meets! At nearly three years old she gets energy out and continues to build her fitness up through both treadmill and swim sessions. The sessions keep her fit for her obedience and tricks which we are currently having great fun in, having achieved titles in intermediate level in tricks, advanced level in Rally obedience and Community Companion Dog (beginner level) in traditional Obedience trialling. This girl loves to show off and strut her stuff!

Hey please read… **Only a vet can diagnose hip dysplasia with diagnostic screening, if you have concerns your dog has hip dysplasia contact your veterinarian immediately** Let’s talk hip dysplasia in dogs. Well, hip dysplasia is a genetic disease commonly seen in breeds such as golden retrievers, German shepherds, Great Danes, border collies, pugs and bulldogs however that doesn’t exclude other breeds as well. Common sighs are; 💃Hip swaying Hip swaying can look a bit like your dog is walking down a run way, swaying their hips from one side to the other however this is actually a sign of discomfort. 🛌 Effort when getting up This can be seen commonly when your pup is getting out of bed or from laying down, they won’t spring out of bed, they have to readjust and really put a lot of effort into standing. 🩼Off loading Often dogs will off load or put their weight to one side to try and reduce pain, sometimes it can look like they are being lazy but they are far from it! 🪫Low energy Energy can decrease in our pups day to day activities because pain is increased during movement, they may be more likely to want to stay at home in bed then go out for an adventure even if they are a high energy dog. 🐾 Behaviour Sometimes our pup’s behaviour will change, they might become more snappy or grumpy with other dogs or people touching them. If you’re pup has any of these signs get them to a vet to have a check up as soon as you can! When Milo first came to our centre following an IVDD diagnosis, he faced significant challenges. IVDD, or Intervertebral Disc Disease, is a condition that affects the spinal discs, often causing pain and mobility issues.  Milo arrived with weak front limbs and struggled to stand on his hind legs due to the pressure on his spinal cord. It was a difficult time for Milo and his family. Through regular sessions of underwater treadmill hydrotherapy, Milo began to see remarkable progress. This tailored treatment provided Milo with the support he needed to exercise without strain. Over several months, Milo's mobility vastly improved, and he gained strength in his hind limbs. Today, Milo stands tall and walks with confidence. His journey from weakness to strength serves as an inspiration to us all.
