About Us

Water Walkies is based in Port Kembla, near Wollongong and boasts the region’s first designated dog hydrotherapy pool in a purpose-built facility. The centre also features an underwater treadmill with 360-degree cameras for assessing gait and prescribing individualised therapy programs.

Co-owners Allison and Catherine are trained and qualified in every aspect of hydrotherapy for dogs. They complete continuing professional development learning on a monthly basis through an online learning platform for Veterinary Rehabilitation Professionals.

Our Qualifications

Both Allison and Catherine hold;

Practitioner Memberships with the Australian Canine Rehab Association- ACRA.
Certificates in Canine Hydrotherapy from the Canine Health and WellBeing Academy.
Completed work placement with well respected Dogs in Motion Canine Rehabilitation Clinic in Melbourne.
Completed an internship with world renown Greyfriars Veterinary Rehabilitation & Hydrotherapy Referrals in Guildford United Kingdom. Greyfriars was established in 2001 and many of the UK’s leading orthopaedic and neurology veterinary specialists refer to them. The knowledge, hands on experience and friendship that they took away from there was invaluable.
In addition they hold certificates in Canine Massage and Animal First Aid.

Allison

Director, Canine Hydrotherapist
Allison manages the family construction company and is a lifelong dog owner. Prior to Water Walkies, Allison was a human phlebotomist. She currently has two doggos, Skeeta the Australian Terrier and Harley the German Shepherd.

Catherine is a professional firefighter with a history of animal rescue and a passion for special needs animals. She currently has Ava and TJ (deaf) the Great Danes, cats George, Zoidberg (deaf and has cerebellar hypoplasia), Haze, Sam and 8 chickens.

Narelle

Canine Hydrotherapist
Narelle is a full-time professional firefighter and a certified Canine Hydrotherapist. She also creates our personalised dog robes in addition to our premium pet treat line Coastal Pet Treats. Aside from being a mum of two kids, Narelle is also the fur mum of Koda the German Shorthaired pointer and Monty the Labradoodle.

Canine Hydrotherapist
Sarah is a certified Canine Hydrotherapist who has a long history of living with special needs animals. She has a degree in Human Psychology and also currently works in retail.

Canine Hydrotherapist
Our resident dog whisperer and training extraordinaire, Jess is a Qualified Canine Hydrotherapist and is also a Qualified Veterinary Nurse. She is a fur mum to Alannah the German Shepherd and Amara the Aussie Shepherd.

Canine Hydrotherapist
Cara has completed her Canine Hydrotherapy Certificate and Cert 2 in Animal Studies. Previously a dog trainer, she has now switched her focus to hydrotherapy. She has 2 Cavaleirs called Lily and Abby. a Bearded Dragon called Charlie and a Rabbit, Drogon.
