Our custom built dog pool has both external and internal ramps where we can perform massage at rest.
It is heated to between 28 – 30 degrees ensuring muscles are relaxed throughout treatment. We have a stringent water management policy where our water is tested twice a day to maintain the highest standards of hygiene.
All dogs are fitted with a life vest prior to entering the pool and a trained and qualified hydrotherapist will always be in the pool to support and encourage your companion. Your loved one’s safety is our number one priority.
As canine hydrotherapy in the pool is non-weight bearing, it encourages a greater range of motion which assists in achieving things in water that may not be able to achieve on land which is particularly useful in improving recovery from injury and surgery.
We have seen the pool greatly assist our senior companions who really benefit from the weightless nature of the water thus removing all the pressure off of their joints. We have even had some enjoy being floated around the pool so much they have a nap in the middle of it!
We can book two companions from the same family which will require two hydrotherapists in the pool. Life vest hire, toys and or treats for motivation are included in the price. We will replace your collar with one of ours when you arrive so you have a dry collar to go home with.
All bookings are exclusive to your companion and family and will not be swimming with other clients.
If you would like to join in the fun you are welcome in the pool with our hydrotherapist. Many human clients also appreciate the benefits of the hydrotherapy pool.
At the end of the session you are welcome to use our DIY dog wash area and shampoo and dry off your companion with our complementary extensive range of Australian made Pro groom and Aloveen Shampoos and Conditioners. A heated dryer is available for use.
The Underwater Treadmill provides a safe controlled environment for low impact exercise and allows early rehabilitation for spinal injury/surgery patients.
Our Hydro Physio underwater treadmill is the latest in design and is extended in length to fit even the biggest of our companions allowing for the space for our hyrotherapists to be inside providing hands on to aid correct gait. It has a walk through design to help build confidence and ensures we do not need to turn your companion around to exit which is particularly important in our spinal condition clients.
The treadmill is useful for dogs that may have heart or respiratory conditions that making swimming in the pool too exhaustive, or dogs that have a swimming phobia and prefer to have all of their paws on the ground.
Our UWTM has 360 degree viewing allowing the therapist to easily observe your pets gait and conformation.
The depth of water can be adjusted reducing the weight bearing by up to 60 percent on joints. This allows for exercise that your companion may be reluctant to perform on land.
Speed, depth, incline and direction can be individually adjusted, giving a very tailored therapy programme.
Gait and posture can become a problem for many different reasons. The hydrotherapy treadmill successfully helps in the re-education of gait and posture. Balance and proprioception problems caused by neurological injury can also be improved.
We have four movable CCTV cameras that we can locate around the treadmill that project onto a split screen television so that we get a full view from all angles at all times. These can be recorded and provided to your Vet on request so they can get a complete picture of how the sessions are progressing and it allows your Vet to suggest feedback for best treatment of your companion. These are also great to refer back to as sometimes you can see the progress better when watching back through the footage.
All sessions will have a minimum of one trained hydrotherapist with your companion. With rehabilitation clients we will have multiple therapists assigned and often in the treadmill supporting your loved one. All sessions are tailored to the individual.
Price includes the supply of life vests or harnesses, toys or treats for motivation.
At the end of the session you are welcome to use our shower DIY wash area and shampoo and dry off your companion with our complementary extensive range of Australian made Pro groom and Aloveen Shampoos and Conditioners. If you require assistance with showering we are more than happy to help.
All Hydrotherapy sessions include free use of our dog wash facilities. We provide a large selection of Australian made Pro Groom and Aloveen Shampoos and Conditioners. Just bring your towel and we have everything else. We also have a heated blow dryer available to use if you prefer.
